GUDE, URC and AWE announce integration for smarter power distribution

New integration increases energy efficiency and resilience of AV and IT infrastructures

GUDE, a German manufacturer of high-quality power supply and monitoring solutions, and URC, a leading global provider of intelligent automation solutions for residential and commercial buildings, today introduce a new integrated solution: Commercial and residential users can now leverage distributed networks and media controls, seamlessly integrating GUDE’s power distribution solutions with URC’s Total Control control software.

GUDE’s network-ready power distribution units (PDU) enable switching and control of AV technology and IT equipment in smart homes, conference rooms and digital signage installations. The switching and metering power solutions enable rebooting (power cycling) of media controllers and servers, reducing power consumption of standby devices, and monitoring AV installations.

With the integration of GUDE’s Expert Power Control product line, URC products can now automate environments with higher energy efficiency and security. In practice, URC’s Total Control allows end users to power on, power off or reboot devices such as media players, streaming boxes or routers.

The combination of the two powerful products allows for unified and intelligent control of commercial and residential buildings for URC’s and GUDE’s customers.

Professional installations, thanks to the new integration, can be controlled by user-defined scenes in which actions such as activating lighting and starting AV equipment take place. For the customer, this integration is easily and conveniently done via the URC user interface on touchscreen or remote control. URC products can be purchased through vendor AWE.
